Don’t forget, there’s always a solution to a problem

In today’s blog post, it’ll be about something beneficial! Something that can help us all, be it for ourselves, be it for our family, or be it for our friends. I am here because I want to help, and I want to provide advices because I myself feel there is a solution to every problem, that this should be taken seriously and we should all start right now!

Here, I have a video to share (similar to the video in the other blog posts) and after watching it, I think that it is a not bad idea. It says that we can actually give youths the education on Home economics, on choosing the right healthy food choices, and that we can influence them in a right way.

It really gave me hope, because I think this is a really great way to reduce the amount of people consuming fast food often.

Moving on, besides educating youths on Home economics, I personally came up with some advices that I feel will be beneficial for you.

Pack your lunchbox

Don’t you feel like whipping up a healthy meal after watching those “Back to school lunchbox ideas” from Youtube stars?       Yes, here’s a chance for you to try making those healthy lunchbox AND a chance for you to look away from fast food restaurants! Packing your own lunchbox helps you save money even! Thus, allowing you to save money, and stop going for fast food! So simple!

Know your consequences

To me, it’s never too late to improve oneself, as everyday is a chance for you to start again. Have faith, and know that it is possible. After all, we are all doing this for ourselves!

how bad is it

Hey! Knowing how your own food is made, is very important. So, do you know how foods of fast food restaurants make their food? Do you know what’s in their food? Do you how processed their foods are?

Watch the video above to know some interesting YET gruesome facts (0:00-0:45) about how most fast food restaurants make their food.

Just yesterday, when I was reading news from Business Insiders Singapore, I stumbled upon a news relating to fast food so I got curious, and clicked on the link. This article is about an adult named, Jaqueline Vaughn, a chiropractic assistant, purchased two meals two years ago and left it on display. So after two years, none of the food have bugs or grown mold or started to smell. From this study, it shows that fast food is loaded with preservatives and of course, consuming processed food is not recommended. This is because, firstly, it contains full of chemicals which are meant to produce plastic or many other products that are harmful to our human body. Secondly, they reuse the oil, which is very unhygienic but customers don’t really care! Lastly, they use higher levels of salt or preservatives and fats to make the food taste better and also allow the food to last longer.

Fast food is very harmful to our human body when it is consumed often, and knowing the great amount of people consuming fast food quite often, I would like to highlight the negative effects of eating fast food.

Eating too much fast food can lead to people being overweight. Studies have stated that fast food consumption has the largest impact on obesity level. In addition, people who eat fast food more than twice a week, gained 10 pounds compared to those who eat less than a week. Being overweight can also lead to a serious illness called heart disease.

Saturated fats in meat, desserts, and fried foods such as french fries of fried chicken, can cause increase in blood sugar.

Heart problems

Fast food contains high amount of cholesterol, salt and fat. Hence, it raises one’s blood pressure levels, putting one at risk her heart problems

People who indulge in high fat, and high sugar foods are likely to experience depression. People also do turn to fast foods in an effort to feel better. However, it’s just temporary because in the end, it will still affect your mood by adding unwanted weight!

Now, I would like to recommend this movie that I’ve watched a few months back, it’s called “SuperSize Me”, starring Morgan Spurlock. In this movie, Morgan filmed himself eating Macdonalds for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 30 days.

A little more introduction about this movie, Morgan at first had a healthy body, but after 30 days, everything declined. For instance, his kidney and liver went from okay to very bad. Also, he almost got himself a heart disease that could lead to a heart failure. Other than that, during the 30 days of eating Macdonalds for breakfast, lunch and dinner, he actually had mood swings and felt very exhausted most of the time.

After watching the movie “SuperSize Me”, I was surprised by how bad Morgan’s condition became after consuming fast food!. From the movie, I’ve gained some knowledge on what fast foods can do to people and how dangerous it is to our human body, such as bringing harm to our heart, liver, and blood. Knowing the bad factors and consequences of consuming fast food, I feel that this is a very serious matter and that something should be implemented!

Above, is the video I’ve watched and in the video, it is again mentioned that fast food brings harm to our body, what it contains in the food, and how dangerous it is. They also mentioned that fast foods bring diabetes, heart pressure and heart disease and as expected, “overweight” and “obesity” is mentioned too!

So in conclusion, fast food is definitely not a recommendation to consume or dine in often. Knowing that it is harmful to our body, I suggest that it should, and must be cut down.

In the next blog post, I will be talking about the things we can do to help reduce the consumption of fast food. So look forward to it! I am glad that we are one step closer to giving people the life they/we deserve to have! Don’t forget, it’s never too late to improve oneself!

As always, Good Luck!

Why me?

Fast food is very very popular, and have you ever wondered why is fast food their choice to dine at? Well, as a youth myself, I feel that the convenience, affordability and the lack of time youths have due to the amount of school work they have do complete, are the few main factors why people choose fast food. Hence, I want to know if it’s really true or if there are more factors to why people choose fast food so I went to create a survey asking all my friends and friends of friends to do the survey.

As you can see from the screenshot above, many of them said that it is cheap, fast, yummy, and convenient and isn’t almost the same as my opinions on why they choose fast food? yup! So…. I think affordability, convenience is really mainly why people choose fast food. In addition, I went to read some articles and screenshot the articles regarding why they choose fast food and many also pointed out that the reason why they choose fast food is because it’s quick, convenient and yummy.

I also came across a video recently which shows that many do consider affordability an important point when buying food.

In the video, the interviewees said that it is cheap adding “I definitely can buy a hamburger cheaper than you can buy an apple”,“pay less to get fat, pay more to eat healthy”(0:20-0:35), and that “I don’t like fast food, but I eat it because it’s cheap“(3:15-3:25), tells me that the affordability of fast food does play a big part of why people choose fast food. So from all these comments, I can conclude that affordability plays a part in why people choose fast food.

One thing that’s kinda new to me, that I didn’t mention above, is the advertising of the product that makes people want to eat fast food and recently, I came across an article from The Strait Times and the article is “Tighter rules for fast food and soda ads to protect children”. In the article, the journalist stated that the advertising of free toys and games with their meals should be stopped so as to protect people from getting attracted to a meal that is high in sugar, salt and fats.

Personally, I feel that there are many factors on why people want to eat fast food, but these above that I’ve mentioned, are the main reasons, which I think, should be highlighted!

In the next blog post, it will be something very interesting! Something that not everyone knows! So……. Stay updated!

Not forgetting, Good Luck!

What about fast food?

Hi there!

Do you know anything about fast food? I’m sure you do, right? Hmmmm, maybe a little less than I do? Or…maybe more than I do? But hey, one thing I’m sure is, I have more than just what you need to know and I really really want to share it with you!

So…. What is fast food? Fast foods, basically, are foods that are processed easily, food that people can buy in an instant. Hence the name “Fast food”. So, knowing that it can be bought fast, and knowing that it doesn’t taste bad, but yummy, it became a place where many people like to eat and dine at and because it became a place where many people like to dine at, the raising of sales of the fast food restaurants has increased greatly, owning billions of dollars and that’s…. A LOT.

I got curious, and wanted to know more so I went to interview people around my campus, asking them how often do they eat fast food and look! As predicted from my observation, many of them eat fast food once/twice a week to thrice a week!

After gathering all the result of how often people eat fast food, I am very, very astonished by it and I feel that it is an issue, and that something must be done because to me, it’s not right. Though I myself am a youth, I do not see a need to eat fast food that often. Hence, knowing that many people, especially the youths, are consuming this huge amount of fast food, I want to share this even more, spread the awareness and hopefully, change your life, or even your friend’s life.

In the next blog post, I will be talking about the reasons of why people choose fast food so as to let you know and understand the people who likes to eat fast food and that maybe you can encourage them to reduce their consumption of fast food in an understanding way! I also want to show you some interesting videos that I’ve discovered recently which left me in shock. If you still have the will to help yourself, or anyone you care, come back for the next blog post for some fascinating facts about fast food.(that you should really know)

Good Luck!
